Thiruvananthapuram :

Periyar Wildlife sanctuary is located at Thakkady , A Dam is built on Periyar River which makes a big lake and divides Periyar sanctuary in two parts , Kerala Tourism runs wildlife safari cruise in Periyar dam by Big boats , There are different timings for boat safari from morning 6 A.M. to 10 A.M., Kerala Tourism also has Lake resort across the lake and one has to cross lake to reach Lake Resort at Periyar. One can enjoy sight seeing of wild animals by boat safari and Binoculars are available on hire near entry gate of Periyar wildlife sanctuary., Though Jeep safari is also available at Periyar wild Life Sanctuary Thekkady. One can also enjoy elephant safari at Thekkady in spice gardens not inside of forest. Periyar Sanctuary has wild animals as Elephants, tigers, Leopards, Monkeys, Nilgai, Sloth Bear etc.

Allappuzha is popularly known as Alleppey and is famous for back waters, Houseboats and Nehru Trophy snake boat race, Now a days Alleppey is must visit destination in Kerala Tour itineraries because of Houseboats, Alleppey has thousands of houseboats. There are different kind of houseboats Air conditioned / Non A.C., One room , two rooms, three rooms to six bed rooms houseboats .
